In accordance with an Executive Order issued by President Biden, the formation of a Special Enrollment Period (SEP) has been declared for individuals and families, in response to the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency which has left millions of Americans facing uncertainty and exceptional circumstances, while millions of Americans have experienced new health problems as a result of the pandemic.
This Special Enrollment Period will allow individuals and families in Illinois (and other Marketplace eligible states) to enroll for 2021 health insurance coverage. The SEP will begin on February 15th 2021 and run until May 15th 2021, allowing those who missed the Open Enrollment period to purchase new health insurance plans or make changes to their existing coverage.
